RabbAI ("we", "the app") helps you study Jewish texts. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Anonymous identifier — a random UUID stored in an httpOnly cookie on your device so we can associate chats with you without asking for your name or email.
• Chat messages — questions you send and answers generated by the service, stored in our database so you can return to past conversations on the same device.
• Attachments — files you optionally attach (text, PDF, images) are processed to answer your question; they are not added to our public text library.
• Interface preferences — such as UI language (Hebrew / English), stored in a cookie.

What we do not collect

We do not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number in the current version of the app.

How we use your data

• To run chat sessions and show your conversation history.
• To search our library of Jewish texts and generate grounded answers with sources.
• To send your questions (and attachment text) to third-party AI providers (e.g. DeepSeek for answers; Google Gemini for search embeddings) solely to operate the service.

Retention

Chats remain stored until you delete them in the app or clear app data. If you clear cookies or uninstall the app, your anonymous ID may change and prior chats may no longer be accessible from a new session.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Chat data is stored on servers we operate or contract with.

Children

The service is intended for learners and researchers. It is not directed at children under 13.
